Make “Orphan” a Fleeting Condition

There might be a few questions running through your head as you read the title. Yes, we can make being an orphan a fleeting condition. But how is that possible?

An orphan is defined as one whose parent/s have passed away. It also refers to children who were abandoned by their biological parents and their relatives failed to take them in. Most orphans have been left by the people that were responsible for giving them the warmth of being loved and the warmth of being in their arms.

How can we turn being an orphan into a temporary feeling? First, through volunteer activities. Through the love and compassion they receive from volunteers, it would make them feel as if they are already part of a family. The children will be under the care of the volunteers and they will see that each and every one of them is loved and cared for.

While they might have lost their biological parents due to different reasons, we can fill the gap by taking care of them and spending even a little time with them. Some donors not only take action and help the orphans, but they also spend time and play games with them as if they’re already part of the family.

Second, through taking them in as a real part of the family. In order words, legally adopting a child. In a world full of calamities, we never know what’s happening with these vulnerable children. Do they have warm food to eat? Clothes to wear? And even shelter to sleep in? Adopting a child does require a considerable amount of responsibility, but it also means that you’re saving a young person’s life.

While it might take time for a child to open up to you entirely, you could slowly win their heart by making them feel the warmth of being loved and the warmth of being in the arms of someone who loves them.

By choosing to do either volunteer or adopt, we can turn “being an orphan” into a temporary feeling and turn their lives into one that is filled with love and happiness.
