Christmas is celebrated around the world in diverse cultural ways, but there are many things we have in common like celebrating the birth of Jesus, gathering with family and friends, sharing a sense of joy, making memories and enjoying traditions.
Celebrating Christmas in Ghana is a well-deserved break for many hard working families. Four weeks before Christmas, families decorate their homes and neighborhoods like we do in the US, using lights, candles and sparkly ornaments; but, it’s just the beginning. On Christmas Day, families prepare food that are usually consisting of goat, vegetables soup and followed by a church service for the whole community and a colorful parade.
While many of us indulge in fine food and unwrap gifts from loved ones, there are millions of children who carry on without. Many children continue being abused, abandoned, impoverished and they do not receive Christmas presents.
According to Africacheck.org, figures range from 3.4 million to nearly 4 million. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), for instance, has put the number of orphans in South Africa at between 3.7 million and 4 million. But some projections have suggested figures as high as 5.2 million.
Rizing Starz International can help orphans by bringing joy to thousands of children above and beyond that are sponsored regularly. Thanks to donations from kind hearted people especially those families who support the organization.
Rizing Starz International first provides gifts, food and the Christmas message for orphans in Ghana, Africa. Sponsoring a child is one of the best ways to help children. Child sponsorships vary from organization to organization but most include things like education, services and by meeting their most basic needs through monetary donations. This makes for a great way to get involved in orphan care.
One of life’s greatest joys is to be a part of something greater than ourselves. We invite you to participate in the Operation 2016 by supporting Rizing Starz International. We have master plan and are now at the step to implement this project for the orphans and your end of the year donation now will help us to make it happen.
